Welcome to CuP Alloys - two companies that sell nothing but silver solder and brazing materials.

Both companies are managed by Keith Hale BSc Hons (Metall). He first entered the brazing market in 1969 and has been a silver soldering specialist for some of the leading european suppliers including Johnson Matthey and Engelhard/Sheffield Smelting Co .

CuP Alloys (Modelling) Ltd
retail small packs of silver solder rod, and wire by the metre, as a speciality service. Suitable fluxes are available to cover all applications. Materials are available ex stock and are despatched world wide at very competitive prices. They are ideal for the model maker, amateur silversmith, jobbing engineer, anyone who requires just small quantities by the metre or by the rod.

Other products include brazing torches whose heating characteristics have been selected to give the model engineer the control required to promote strong leak-tight joints. Complimenting the torches are firebricks, plates and insulating blankets to use the heat more efficiently and speed up the brazing process.

BS EN 1044

In 1999 "Europe" rationalised the three main standards for silver solder and other brazing alloys, BS 1845, DIN 8513 and NF A- 81 to create this new standard EN 1044.

Silver Solder
All alloys are made using only pure virgin metals to ensure top quality brazing characteristics.
This is particularly relevant to meet the specifications of cadmium free silver solder.

All materials are manufactured in Spain by a company with ISO 9001 accreditation for their quality management system relating to the manufacture of brazing materials. (Certificate No. E202200)

Some larger and better known suppliers do not have that approval for manufacturing alloys.

Silver Content from 4% to 67%
available as wire, rod, strip, foil, preforms and paste.
Rod length from 100mm to 1000mm. Standard length 500mm

Rods can be bare or flux coated.

Copper Brazing Alloys
Again all materialss are made using only pure virgin metals to ensure top quality brazing characteristics.
They are used for the fluxless brazing of copper in air. Equally they can be used to join copper alloys when used in with a flux.

Silver Free Alloys - phosphorus content between 6 and 8%

Silver Bearing Alloys 1 - 15% silver

Availability 1.5, 2.0, 2.5, 3.0, 4.0, 5.0mm section round or square.

Copper Welding Materials

To compliment the range of silver solder and copper brazing alloys there are two alloys for the welding of copper. Both are available as MIG wire or TIG rod for use with either nitrogen or argon shield gas.
