As regards these solders being a danger to the model engineer - the potential danger has been known about for over 35 years. If the danger is such then why were these alloys not removed years ago? Whatever the reason some suppliers want to go down the cadmium free route, in our opinion, it has nothing to do with health and safety. The easy to use, 42% silver, easy flowing alloy as preferred by model engineers continues to be available now and in the future. But if you want a cadmium free alloy - just ask - we've got them as well!
